PATTERSON Mary Jane (Stubbs) Patterson, 82, passed away September 16, 2006. She was born in Douglas, Georgia, and lived in Waycross, Georgia until 1957 when she married Robert P. Patterson and moved to Jacksonville. She was retired from Duval County Schools as a teacher. Mrs. Patterson was a member of Riverside Park United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Waycross. She graduated from Shorter College. Mrs. Patterson was an avid golfer and was a champion tennis player. Survivors include her husband, Robert P. Patterson; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Joseph T. Petrocelli; two grandchildren, Thomas M. Petrocelli and Robert V. Petrocelli; a brother, Claude Mallory Stubbs, Jr. of Waycross, Georgia; and two nieces, Claudia Stubbs of Jacksonville and Sylvia Stubbs Murphy of South Carolina. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 23rd, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue. A reception will immediately follow.
