BRENTWOOD -- Mary Jane Hogan Nolan, 61, died Nov. 2, 2008, at her home after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 5, 1947, in New Britain, Conn., to Lena (Ciquera) and John Zaleski. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1965. She earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in educational media at Central Connecticut State University. She worked at CCSU for nearly 20 years. She held various positions and was assistant director of student center operations upon her retirement in 1995. She married high-school sweetheart Michael Nolan, in 1991, and they settled in Brentwood, where she cultivated her love of cooking, homemaking and gardening. She loved the beach and traveling to warm destinations. Family members include her husband of 17 years, Michael Nolan of Brentwood; a daughter, Shannon Galinson of Amherst; two stepsons, Jonathan Nolan of Newmarket, and James Nolan of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Zaleski of Fargo, N.D. SERVICES: Family and friends will gather at Mary Jane's home (48 Middle Road, Brentwood) to celebrate and remember her on Saturday at 1 p.m. Memorial donations be made to Miss Porter's School, Development Office, 60 Main Street, Farmington, CT 06032.
