Retired School Teacher AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Doctors Hospital, Mrs. Mary Jenkins Higgins of Augusta. Mrs. Higgins was a native of Kyger, Ohio but lived in Augusta and Marietta, Georgia for the last 55 years. Mrs. Higgins received a Bachelors Degree from Ohio University and a Masters Degree from the InterAmerican University. She was a retired high school teacher having taught at several local schools including: Jackson High School, Richmond Academy, and Jefferson County High School. She was a member of the Church of the Atonement Episcopal Church. Family members include her sons: James (Kathryn) Higgins of Newnan, Ga., the late Michael (Cindy) Higgins; daughters: the late Beth (Art) Bryan, Garen (Mark) Livingston of Hartsville, SC., the late Melody (Gary) Blanpied; grandchildren: Greg Bryan, Kathy Thompson, Joel Higgins M.D., Linda Rodes, Jeff Bailey, Tim Livingston M.D., Chris Livingston, Julie Livingston, Scott Higgins, Corey Higgins, Kevin Higgins, Jason Blanpied, Stephen Blanpied and many beloved great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Rick Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors: 214 Davis Rd. Augusta, Ga. 30907. Sign the guestbook at AugustaChronicle.com
