Obituary of Mary-J. Carter

MARY J. CARTER VALPARAISO, IN FORMERLY OF HOBART/PORTAGE Mary J. Carter, age 78 of Valparaiso, and formerly of Hobart and Portage, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus. She was born on May 11, 1933 in Glen Dean, KY to Alvin and Pearl (Jones) Harper. Mary had worked housekeeping at the Crown Point Convalescent Home. Mary is survived by two daughters: Patricia (Don) Huff of Valparaiso and Linda Welch of Hobart; five sons: John Harper of AZ, Ron Harper of KY, Gary Harper of KY, Tom Carter of Michigan City and Lewis Carter of KY; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Carter in 1978; and son, Robert Carter. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. Cremation will take place at Angelcrest Crematory, Valparaiso.
