Burial in the West Cemetery in the Fairview Community. Bro. Harold Walker and Bro. John Murphy will officiate at the services. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 4 p.m. till 9 p.m. and on Friday, April 24, 2009 from 7 a.m. till time of the services. Mrs. Murphy passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Master's Health Care Center. She was born in Jackson Co., TN on March 16, 1915, she was a Homemaker and a member of Duncan's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by 3 daughters & son-in-law, Marilyn Evelyn Hand, Clarksville, TN, Mary Ellen McGugin, Cookeville, TN and Elizabeth Ann (Patrick) McKinley, San Antonio, TX; 3 daughters-in-law, Doris Murphy, Cookeville, TN, Frances Murphy, Florida, Sally Murphy, Cookeville, TN; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Monroe & Dezzie Stewart Ray; husband, Virgil Ray; 4 sons, James, Paul, John and Tommy Murphy; infant daughter, Betty Sue Murphy; 4 brothers, Mack, Verble, Raymond and Norman Ray; 4 sisters, Mattie Webb, Lillie Green, Lela Allen and Ruby Shepherd. Pallbearers will be: Charles (J.R.) Hand, Harry T. McGugin III, Jimmy Murphy, Myron Smith, Greg Murphy, Patrick Ford and Brent Holland.
