Mary Chasteen Hughes, 85, widow of Thomas Elva Hughes, died May 5, 2008 at Allen Bennett Hospital.A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Jack and Nellie Chasteen, she was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens.Surviving are a son, Thomas Malcolm Hughes of Greer; a daughter, Mariea Gosnell of Gowensville; two brothers, Thomas Chasteen of Warner Robbins, Ga. and Lee Roy Chasteen of Greenwood; two sisters, Betty Dill and Jean Turner, both of Greenville; and two grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary.Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.Visitation will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Mortuary.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.Online condolences may be at www.thewoodmortuary.com
