HIGGINS _ Mary (Bernice) Bernice Higgins of Calgary passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Newport Harbour Care Centre on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Bernice is survived by her children, Pat (Elizabeth) Higgins of Mountain View, CA, Mike (Patricia) Higgins and Donna (Ken) Allan of Calgary; sisters, Peggy (Jack) Yucytus and Isabel (Jim) Neil of Calgary; and daughter-in-law Linda Higgins. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Alana and Shannon Higgins, Sonya (Kyle) MacQuarrie, Curtis Higgins, Heather, Kimberley and Lauren Allan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by husbands, Hubert Walsh in 1959 and Joseph Higgins in 1975. She also follows to God's care her parents Pearl and Michael Horrigan; brothers, Ray and Denny Horrigan; and sister Leona Kelsch. Bernice spent over thirty-seven years living in Highwood raising her three children. She will be missed by her many friends she met while in Highwood and by her extended family. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Prayers on Monday, December 27, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16 Avenue N.W., Calgary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church, 835 Northmount Drive N.W., Calgary on Tuesday, December 28 at 10:30 a.m., the Very Rev. Inocencio C. Cambaling, VF presiding. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bernice Higgins may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6.
