Obituary of Mary-Helen Ballard

Jacksonville - Funeral services for Mary Helen Ballard, 70, will be on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 Brutonville Road, Jacksonville with the Rev. Brandon Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Ballard remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her services. A wake will be from 5-7 tonight in the chapel. Anniston Funeral Services in charge. Mary passed on November 11, 2012 at St. Vincent East Hospital in Birmingham. Mrs. Ballard was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Weaver. She was employed at Weaver Elementary School for 37 years. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Ballard, of Lincoln, Deloris Ash, of Conyers, Ga., and Cathy Ballard, of Weaver; grandchildren, Debris and Darrion Ash, of Conyers, Ga.; siblings, Jean Banks, of Williamsburg, Va., Glenda (Johnny) May, of Royce City, Texas, Vera (William) Bell, of New Madrid, Mo., Velma (Nathaniel) Jenkins, of Anniston, Bernice Dorthard, Debra Mathis, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Hines Ware, of Alexandria, Arthur (Karen) Hardy, of Macon, Ga., and Gregory Hardy of Birmingham; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Houston and Lillie Ruth Ware Hardy, husband, Joe Lee Ballard, and sister, Katherine Ware.
