Mary Gaston Cox 99 of the Spring Creek Community of Madison County died June 21 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born in Madison County daughter of the late Paul and Lula Pierce Gaston. Mrs. Cox remained a lifelong resident of the Lebanon-Spring Creek Community where she taught school for several years at the Gowan School in the Lebanon Community. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener who loved to share her many flowers with friends and the community. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church but had a dear love for her home church Lebanon United Methodist and its members. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Curtis Cox in 1982; three sisters Hilda Ayers Hazel Piercey Holmes and Catherin Gaston; five brothers Howard Gaston Stokley Gaston Bruce Gaston Wortham Gaston and Virgel Gaston. She is survived by a daughter Mary Elsie Cox; a sister-in-law Mildred Gaston; several nieces and nephews and a very special "adopted" daughter Joyce Howell. A special love goes to Virginia Haskins who in the last days and hours was a very dear friend to the family. Pallbearers to serve are Paul Nichols Joe Gaston Paul E. Gaston Jeff Gaston Gary Gaston and Denny Bush. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. today Saturday June 24 2006 from the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Rev.
