Obituary of Mary-G. Williams


Mary G. (Gherardi) Williams, a longtime resident of Weymouth, died Aug. 16, 2014. Mary was a caring woman who devoted herself to volunteer work that spanned 50 years, including over 19 years at South Shore Hospital and many years on the Weymouth Air Base providing U.S. Navy and Marine Corp relief. She also volunteered as the librarian at the Weymouth Senior Center where she was blessed with many friends. As a woman of devout faith, Mary was an active parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Parish where she taught CCD and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, parish council and Weymouth Catholic Club. Beloved wife of 54 years to George E. Williams of Weymouth. Devoted mother of Monica Klaver and her husband Daniel of Fla. and George E. Williams, II and his wife Maureen of Duxbury. Loving sister of Anita Gherardi of HI. Cherished Nona of Nicholas, George E., III and Delaney Williams. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth, at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
