Obituary of Mary-G. Anderson


ANDERSON - Mary G. (Vanderbeek), of Mahwah, NJ., formerly on Allendale, NJ, died peacefully on March 3, 2002. Born in Harrison, NJ in 1902, she was 99. She worked in a New York City business office, met her husband Wilber Vanderbeek, a carpenter, and married in 1935. This marriage lasted 43 years and blessed them with two sons, John and Gerald. Mary was married to Leonard Anderson and shared life with him in Florida for several years. Her son Gerald lives in California. Mary has lived with son John and Dorothy for the past ten years in Mahwah, NJ. Mary loved raising her children and organized a Mother's Club in Allendale of which she later became president. Mary is also survived by three married grandsons, John, Stephen and Christopher, and five great grandchildren. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, March 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ 07446. Funeral service here at the funeral home, Thursday, March 7th at 9 AM. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to The Ramapo Hills Chapel, 59 Masonicus Rd., Mahwah, NJ 07430. Arrangements have been entrusted to Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ 07446. For directions or further information please call 201-327-0032.
