Mary L. 77, of Galeton and North East, PA, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. Born February 25, 1925, in Burdett, NY, she was the daughter of Robert and Anna Bush Usher. On September 5, 1948, in Harrison Valley, PA, she married Harold D. Frith, who survives. A graduate of Watkins Glen High School, she has resided in Galeton, Hamburg, NY, Springville, NY, Oil City, PA, Titusville, PA, and North East, PA. She was a member of the Hamburg United Methodist Church and served as President of the Cherry Tree Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary near Titusville. She was active in the Erie County (NY) Cooperative Extension. Surviving besides her husband are: a son, Michael Frith of Novi, MI, a daughter, Rebecca Koepf of Rocky Hill, CT, three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Usher, Jr. of Trumansburg, NY, George Usher of Hyattsville, MD, William Usher of Batavia, NY, and John Usher of Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters, Pauline Goelz of Wheatland, WY and Shirley Champion of Burdett, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Collins-Olney Funeral Home, Galeton on Friday, July 26th from 12:00-1:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Joseph A. Wolf, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
