Obituary of Mary-Frances-Taylor Smith


SMITH Mary Frances Taylor Smith died with strength and dignity on April 1, 2002. She was in the loving care of Community Hospice following a 3 month fight to recover from a massive stroke. Mary was a native of Anniston, Alabama, but had called Hilliard, Florida home for the past 34 years, where she dedicated her life to her family, her church, and her community. Her gentle touch and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Mary is survived by three grown children, Juanita Pritchard of Kennesaw, GA; Billy Smith of Hilliard, FL and Thomas Smith of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren; one sister RosaLee Brooks of Pensacola, FL, Carl Taylor of San Diego, CA and Herbert Taylor of Las Cruzes, NM. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2002 from 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, Georgia. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 4, 2002, 3:00 P.M. at the Hilliard United Methodist Church. Officiating services will be Reverend Chester Plank. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Anniston, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Marys honor to Community Hospice 4266 Sunbeam Road; Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
