Mary Frances Morrisey, 78, Springfield, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2007, in Quail Creek Nursing Center, Springfield, following a long illness. Mrs. Morrisey, a retired director with the Tulsa Parks System, was born January 10, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of the late Hobert F. and Theo B. (Holman) Madison. She was united in marriage on November 25, 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Norman S. Morrisey. He preceded her in death in 2005. Mary Frances was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa. She was a graduate of Tulsa University where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, the Phi Delta Epsilon Honorary Journalism Fraternity, the American Association of University Women, Student Council and the Theater and Radio Staff. She was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and was president of the Radio Guild. She was a collector of southwest Indian artifacts and had been on several archeological digs. She and her husband, Norman, traveled extensively throughout the United States as well as many foreign countries. She had spent the last three years in Springfield, close to her cousins. She is survived by several family members and many friends in several states. In celebration of Mary Frances' life, a family memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, in the home of her cousins near Rogersville. It was her request that she be cremated and buried next to her husband in Springfield National Cemetery under direction of J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
