-> Fran was born on March 29, 1925, Rolla, MO., the third child and first daughter of Leo and Grace Higley. She attended Drury College in Springfield, MO., and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Fran married Art Davis in 1943 and they had five children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Art and her three oldest children, Janet, Anne, and Arthur. Beloved by many, a burden to none, Fran made a difference in the lives of everyone she knew. She was a dedicated employee, an incredible hugger, wonderful joke teller and earring collector. No one could ask for a kinder daughter, sister, mother or friend. Fran will be sorely missed by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her daughters, Susannah Schouten of Brunswick, GA., and Mary Ferguson of Darien, GA.; three grandsons, Arthur Davis, III of Savannah, GA, John Langford of Tucson, AZ and Kevin Ferguson or Darien, GA and four great -grand daughters. Fra n is also survived by two brothers and one sister, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial mass to honor and remember Fran will be held at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in Darien, GA., on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Fran asked that memorial contributions be made to either: Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church Youth Library, Attn: Marie Schoettle, P.O. Box 1093, Darien, GA 31305 or Hospice of the Golden Isles, Attn: Date, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525. All who wish to gather and reminisce and celebrate her life are welcome to come after the service to Fran s house in Ridgeville.
