"Together Forever" Mary Frances Adkins Wright SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Mary Frances Adkins Wright left this world in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 22, 2010. She has won the victory over Alzheimers Disease as did her husband of 60 years, Herbert R. Wright who departed this life on March 16, 2002. Now that her suffering has ended, she is at last in the presence of her Lord and Savior, and has been reunited with Herbert, the "Love of her Life." They are now safe in the arms of their Heavenly Father where they will forever be "TOGETHER FOREVER." Mrs. Wright was 85. She had suffered from Alzheimer's for more than seven years and had been a resident of Grace Healthcare in Asheville, NC, for the last four years. Born in Greenville, SC, on June 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Rufus R. Adkins and the late Bertha McCraw Adkins and was the last remaining member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by three brothers, Samuel, Grady and Joseph Adkins; and two sisters, Sarah A. Smith and Jennie Lee A. Humphries. Mrs. Wright was a member of Hayne Baptist Church, and attended First Free Will Baptist of Inman in her latter years. She worked in the textile industry for more than 35 years, then attended Spartanburg Technical College where she trained to work in the machine shop at Mettler-Toledo. She retired at the age of 67. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Wright is survived by her daughter, Shelby F. Hayes and her husband Dean of Boiling Springs; her son, Dennis R. Wright of Kernersville, NC; two grandsons, Rodney Wright and his wife Tina, Sean Fortner and his wife Dawn; and one granddaughter, Michelle Oswald; four great-grandchildren, Dustin Horne, Hannah Wright, Dylan Fortner, Kylie Fortner, and Emily Oswald; three sisters-in-law, Valetta Adkins, Janice Gregory, and Margaret Wofford. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at J.F. Floyd Greenlawn Chapel on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A celebration of her life will be held at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Inman, on Tuesday August 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Services will be conducted by Rev. John Lynch, Rev. Earl Hendrix, and Rev. Sean Fortner. Following the services, entombment will be held at Greenlawn Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Carolinas Foothill. The family of Mrs. Wright extends our love and sincere appreciation to the staff at Grace Healthcare and to the staff and volunteers at Smith Phayer Hospice for the special love and care given to her in her final days on this earth. We have been blessed that Mother was cared for by such special people. We will never forget your dedication, your kindness, and your loving care for Mother and our entire family. May God bless each one of you as you continue to serve Him by ministering to these very special people who desperately need your loving care.
