Mary F. Cox of Destin, Florida, age 83, passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, June 26, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Cox and grandson Clinton Cox. Mary and Jack were originally from Alabama but moved with their family to Pensacola in 1960 and to Destin in 1985. She was a graduate of Hartford High School, Huntington College and Pensacola Junior College. She finished her education after her children had both graduated college. She was active in business from an early age as a bookkeeper and accountant and eventually as a business owner. She and her family owned Mary's Market Café in Cordova Square in Pensacola and Mary's Market in the Market Shops at Sandestin. She loved life, she loved to have fun and she was happiest when she was helping others. She was an active member of Village Baptist Church in Destin. She is survived by her son, Chan, daughter-in-law Laura, granddaughters Cassie and Caitie and daughter Jackie Cox. All will sorely miss her. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 29 at 2:00 pm at Village Baptist Church on Matthew Blvd. in Destin. Dr. Steven Davies will conduct the service. A reception will follow at the church provided by Jan Ufferman's Sunday School class.
