Mary Evelyn Allen, 95, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Life Care Center of Bardstown. She was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Spencer County, retired from the old Bardstown Sewing Factory, and a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Thomas Allen and Sarah Pearl Allen; two sisters, Gladys Pauline Combs and Mable Jean Frazier; and three brothers, James E. "Jimmy" Allen, Paul Allen, and Arthur Leroy Allen. She is survived by her brother, Charles Blair Allen, of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.Her memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church, with burial in her church cemetery. Pastor Tim Lucas will officiate. Visitation will be noon – 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, at her church.Memorial contributions may go to her church. Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
