->Westerly - Mary Esther Williams, 75, of Westerly, formerly of Groton, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, peacefully at her home. She was the wife of the late Arthur "Fiddling Pete" Williams.Born in New London, on July 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Esther (Thomas) Brooks.She is survived by her children, Linda Fortune and her husband, Ronald, Mary Anne Peabody and her husband, Gene, Lynnette Dallas and her husband, Scott, Tammy Shuman and her husband, Julian, Tina Winston and her husband, Paul; 12 grandchildren, Kim Saxon, Jennifer Vaz, Kristen Perkins, Robert Ryan, Aimee Fortune, Jessica Peabody, Joshua Shuman, Patrick Ryan, Neil Ryan, Julian Shuman Jr., and Brianna Shuman; and 17 great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by a son, William Ryan.Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, at Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St., Hope Valley, R.I. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, at Joy Fellowship, 25 Railroad Ave., Westerly.Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
