Mary Estelle Sowell Smith - Savannah -Mary Estelle Sowell Smith, 95, of Savannah, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Bryan County Health Care Center in Richmond Hill, Ga. She was born in Screven County, Ga., and was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Smith, and a daughter, Jean Collins. She had formerly worked as a Sales Associate with Belk's of Savannah, and was a member of the South Gardens Baptist Church, the Love in Action Group, and the Seniors Group. She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Jonas W. and Mary Smith of Rincon, Ga; daughters and sons in law, Dorothy Buie of Brooklet, Ga; Johnnie and Larry Reid of Midway, Ga; Ann and Chuck Stewart of Hinesville, Ga, Mary Alice and Charles Strickland of Shellman Bluff, Ga., and Daisy and Louis Vaigneur of Edgewater, Fla. and Nancy Clifton of Rincon, Ga.; one sister, Florence Weston of Rincon, Ga.; brother, Tommy Sowell of Statesboro, Ga; 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation:6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, with Rev. Keith Stewart, officiating.
