Williams, Mary Ellen TROY Mary Ellen Williams, 61, of Troy, passed into eternal life on Wednesday morning, June 24, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Dobransky Fitz-gibbons. She was also the loving wife of Carl D. Williams Jr. of Troy. Mary Ellen graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy and Albany Medical School of Nursing in 1969. She was a school nurse at Troy High School in Troy for 31 years. Mary Ellen enjoyed knitting, going to plays and musicals with her family, and being a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Brian (Kimberly) Williams of Troy, Karla (Kevin) Buettner of Ganesvoort, N.Y. and Megan Williams of Troy. Mary Ellen was the very proud grandmother of Colin, Christopher and Isabella, and sister of Julie Ann Yund of Ballston Spa. The funeral service for Mary Ellen will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy and at 9:30 at Our Lady of Victory Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall P. Patterson, pastor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be held privately for the family.
