NELSON - Mary Ellen (nee Huber) of Ridgewood NJ died August 19, 2006 at home. Mrs. Nelson a longtime resident of Ridgewood was a retired 2nd grade teacher in Ramsey NJ. Born in Shanghai, China, and graduated from Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio. Mrs Nelson was a life member and Deacon of the West Side Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer for Kurth Cottage at Valley Hospital and Meals-on-Wheels. She is survived by her daughter Norah E. Nelson of Ridgewood, a nephew David and his wife Robin Huber of Park Ridge, their children Erica and Justin, as well as Marshall Rose and family, and the Shackleton family. Mrs. Nelson was predeceased by her husband John Nelson Jr. and her brother Carl Lasier Huber. A memorial service will be held 4 PM, Thursday, August 24th at the West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 South Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ.
