ALBANY, Ga. - The funeral service of Mary Ellen Mills, 68, of 2516 Whispering Pines Road, who died October 23, 2007, will be conducted Friday at 4:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ike Branch and Rev. Mark Amspaugh will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. A native of Augusta, GA, Mrs. Mills had resided in Albany for the past fifty four years, attended public schools and was the widow of Kenneth H. Mills. She was a hair stylist for over thirty years and attended The Albany Grace Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include three sons and their wives, Danny and Lynn Higgs of Mitchell County, GA, Matt and Cindi Mills and Chance and Julie Mills, all of Lee County, GA, a step-son and his wife, Keith and Lorraine Mills of Lee County, GA, a sister and her husband, Veronica and Andy Truan of Forsyth, GA; two aunts, Katherine Mobley and Madeline Barton, both of North Augusta, SC; five grandchildren, John Daniel Higgs, Jr, Dallas Mills, Mattison Mills, Chanie Mills and Morgan Mills; five step-grandchildren, Billy Sampson, Dana Sanders, Steven Sanders, Holly Sanders and MacKenzie Mills; a neice and nephew, two great nieces and one great nephew and a very special friend and caregiver, Sherri Eidson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. today (Thursday) at Mathews Funeral Home.
