LEESVILLE, S.C. - Mary Ellen Marshall, passed away quietly on to glory, on Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2003, at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Duncan officiating. Burial will be in the B & L Memorial Garden Cemetery. Mrs. Marshall was an educator and a hard worker in her church and community. She was very active in the Leesville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Stars, various church ministries and volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program. She later took pleasure in being a homemaker. She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Marion (Freeman) Gary, Aiken; three sons, James (Ethel) Marshall, Julius (Rose) Marshall, Andrew (Linda) Marshall, all from Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Mattie K. Johnson, Columbia and Marie Henry, St. Petersburg, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
