Obituary of Mary-Ellen Hayes-Kent

Hayes-Kent, Mary Ellen or better known as "Maeve" of Boca Raton, FL left us suddenly on August 25, 2003 to be with God in Heaven. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 19, 1916 to John J. and Mary K. Manning both from Ireland. She graduated from the Acadamie Moderne in Boston and worked as a high fashion model in Boston, New York, and Palm Beach before marrying Francis G. Hayes in New York City. Years after the death of Francis G. Hayes, Maeve married the love of her life, Peter J. Kent, who passed away 5 years ago. Together they led a very exciting life traveling all over the world. Anyone who net Maeve knew that her daughter and grandchildren were the center of her life. They were with her when she passed away peacefully at Hospice by the Sea Care Center. Maeve was an avid duplicate bridge player and in her younger years was quite an athlete. She was an excellent golfer and swimmer. She is survived by her daughter. Susan Hayes Cardiff, of Highland Beach, FL, grandsons, Steven Peter Cardiff of Coronado, CA, and Michael P. Cardiff of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, Thomas D. Manning of Milton, MA, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 29th at Babione Funeral Home (East Chapel). The Babione Funeral Home (East Chapel) in charge of arrangements.
