FLANAGAN, MARY ELLEN, 78, of Louisville, passed away Friday, March 17, 2006 at Norton Suburban Hospital. She was retired from Bell South Telephone, was a member of Telephone Pioneers, Sons and Daughters of Erin Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, Rails to Trails, and did volunteer work for the American Red Cross and Just Creations. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Edna Flanagan; a brother Fred Flanagan; and a niece, Lynne Conti. She is survived by her brother Thomas W. Flanagan Jr. and his wife, Wanda; niece, Cheryl Stinson and her husband Charles; and a nephew-in-law, Joseph Conti. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Rome, 2119 Payne St. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Ratterman 3711 Lexington Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Exceptional Equitation, Diabetes Association, or Prevent Blindness of Kentucky.
