AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Starnes, 71, entered into rest on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at her residence. She is survived by a loving and devoted husband, Sullie Starnes, Jr., daughters, Cathy S., (Bob) Wolbert, Carol Starnes and Melinda Starnes; grandaughter, Natalie Wolbert; grandson, Christopher Wolbert; sister, Eva Sue Padgett and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Starnes was a lifelong member of The Hill Baptist Church and Crossbridge Baptist Church. She worked with the WMU and Nursery Dept. for numerous years. She was a volunteer for many years at Garrett Elementary School where she was known as "Mrs. Tuesday". A praise service will be held in her honor (today) Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. at Crossbridge Baptist Church with Rev. John Brent Dowis officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Wolbert, Mack Stewart, Jim Stewart, George Stewart, Traylor Johnson, Mike Johnson and David Johnson. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
