NUTTER (SHEA), MARY ELIZABETH "BETTY" - Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (Shea) Nutter, 83, widow of the late George Harry Nutter, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Rose (McGuiggan) Shea. She grew up on Rockland Road, attended Holy Trinity School and St. Vincent's High and worked in the Bank of Nova Scotia, Charlotte Street Branch from 1941 until her marriage in 1951. She raised four children and took great pride in assisting her husband with his banking career by entertaining staff and customers. During her married life of 47 years, she lived in New York, Montreal, Renfrew, Barrie and Toronto before settling in Dartmouth in the late 1960's. She was active in the Dartmouth Kiwanis Club Ladies Auxiliary, the Dartmouth Curling Club and St. Peter's Church. She is survived by her daughter, Rose (Kevin) Spicer, Kentville; her sons, Ernest (Lyndsay) Nutter, Toronto; Larry Nutter, Dartmouth; her sisters, Helen Crowley, Rothesay, New Brunswick; Natalie (Dr. George) Battcock, St. John's, Newfoundland; her grand- children, Bridget and Michael Spicer. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; her son, Kevin; her sister, Connie Shea; her brother, Kevin Shea. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to all the front-line care professionals for your hard work and many kindnesses to Mom in her final years. Special thanks to Ruth O'Hara, a dear friend and truly gifted caregiver. A memorial service and interment will take place at a later date in Saint John.
