SHELDON -- Mary Elizabeth Peterson, 65, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 8, 2006, at her home with her loving family at her side.She was born in Brattleboro on Feb. 5, 1941, the daughter of the late John and Maxine (Howard) Adams.She grew up in Brattleboro and graduated from Brattleboro High School. She earned an associate's degree in nursing from Vermont Technical College and had been employed as a L.P.N. at Haven Health Care Facility in St. Albans.She enjoyed reading, snowshoeing, long walks in the woods and sunsets over Lake Champlain.She is survived by her husband, Robert Peterson of Sheldon, whom she married on Jan. 15, 1994; a son, Timothy and his wife Kelly of Richford; two daughters, Linda Greenwood and her husband Shayne of Richford, and Lori Williams of Berkshire; a stepson, Mark Peterson of Phoenix; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bates and her husband Brad of St. Albans, Travis Greenwood, Benjamin Peters, Amy Jo Peters, Amanda Peters of Richford, all of Richford, Michael Williams of St. Albans, and Matthew and Dakota Williams, both of Berkshire; and a great-grandson, Colby Williams of Richford. She is also survived by her brothers, Ernest “Jackie” Barre and his wife Lois of Medford, Ore., William Adams and his wife Peggy, and John Adams and his companion Connie Laclair, all of Brattleboro; her sisters-in-law, Joan Matanle of Springfield, Carole Young and her husband Alan of Georgetown, Mass.; and a special friend, Patricia Guilmette of St. Albans. Besides her parents Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Clinton “Joe” Peters, and a son, Joseph Peters.Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in St. Albans. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hinsdale, N.H.Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 8 Bishop St., St. Albans, VT 05478.Condolences may be sent to the family on-line through www.spearsfuneralhome.com.u
