GAFFNEY, SC-- Mary Elizabeth Martin Davis, 91, of 1705 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2006 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.Born in Smyrna, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter Harold Martin and Maggie Jane Bolin Martin and widow of the late Isaiah Nathan Davis. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and she was a member of West End Baptist Church.Surviving are one son, Louis Davis of Blacksburg; five daughters, Maxine Durham and husband, Fred, of Blacksburg, Bonnie Dawson and husband, Frank, of Gaffney, Norma Hudson of Gaffney, Vera Moss and husband, Mickey, of Blacksburg, and Sue Peeler and husband, Roger, of Gaffney; one sister, Irene Martin of Blacksburg, 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2006 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Rodney Cook. Interment will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens, Blacksburg, SC.The family will be at the home of Bonnie D.
