Obituary of Mary-Elizabeth Mitchell


Mary Elizabeth Thornborrow (née Mitchell) A remarkable lady who made her journey through life with grace spirit and courage passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2006 in her 97th year, and will be remembered by her children George (Grace), Bob (Helen), Doreen (Harry), and Shirley. Cherished Grandma to 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Mabel and Joe Mitchell, her son Ronald , and her brothers George, Ross, and sister Jean. Leaves behind her loved sister Hazel Hood, sister-in-law Vera Mitchell and brother Lloyd Mitchell. She lived determinedly and independently until she was 92, in Milton, then brought cheerfulness and smiles to Alexander Place in Waterdown. In keeping with Mother’s wishes, Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to join us in a Celebration of Mary’s Life at the GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 157 Mill Street North, Waterdown, on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Grace Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, Waterdown, 905-689-4852.
