BIRMINGHAM Mary Elizabeth Howell Johnson, age 60, of Birmingham, Ala., passed away October 17, 2007. Mrs. Johnson grew up as a member of the West End United Methodist Church. She worked for the state of Alabama - State Trooper Post-on Finley Ave. She also worked for Cottage Hills Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph A. Hanbury; mother, Cora E. Hanbury; and husband, James L. Howell. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. "She had a sweet disposition, everybody loved her - she was everybody's 'Mom'." She is survived by her husband, James F. Johnson; daughters, Lara E. (Lance) Mooney, Jana Howell (Chad) Harland and Tara Howell; grandchildren, Kaitlin E. Mooney, James Mooney and Chase Harland; brother, Ronald Hanbury; and sister, Lynda Fowler. Graveside service will be held Monday, October 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
