Mary Elizabeth Hemming Whitaker, 93, of Elkton, Fla., died Aug. 5, 2013, at her home. She was born March 2, 1920, in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. On Oct. 25, 1944, she married Oscar Lamar Whitaker. Lamar and Mary traveled the world as he was assigned by the U.S. Department of State. He passed away. Mary worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 15 years before her retirement.Funeral services are private. Entombment will be in Craig Memorial Park Mausoleum.She is survived by her longtime companion, Mathias Frueh.Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of the arrangements.
