Obituary of Mary-Elizabeth-Edwards-Oakley Carter

Mary was born in Dothan, Ala. to Matthew and Anna Lee Edwards, a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area, a 1938 graduate of Gulf High School, a member of River Hills Church of God, and a homemaker where she spent many hours enjoying crafts and quilting. Preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Oakley and Robert Carter. Survived by her daughters, Kitty (Wayne) Jones of Blue Ridge, Ga., Patti (Hank) Vaughn of Maryville, Tenn., Lee Anna (Andrew) Paylor of Md.; one brother, William H. Edwards; grandchildren, Tom Jones, Karen E. Jones, Greg Jones, Patrick Jones, Kevin Jones, Christine Vaughn, Hank Vaughn, Cheryl Vaughn; great grandchildren; Whitney, Shannon, Darion, Kristen, Gage, Bailey, Audrey, Joshua, Tiffany, Alex, Demi, Larissa; great-great-granddaughter, Jocelyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary's family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Tues., Jan. 8, 2013, at Hodges Family Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens.
