AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on April 2, 2003, at the Medical College of Georgia, Mrs. Mary E. Smith of Hickory Street. She was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church of which Rev. Dr. Oscar Wells is pastor. Survivors include her husband, Mr. James L. Smith Sr.; one son, Mr. James L. (Michelle) Smith Jr.; mother, Mrs. Sarah Johnson; three brothers, Mr. Herman Johnson, Mr. William Johnson and Mr. Charles (Lula) Johnson; one sister, Mrs. Jackie (Charles) Edwards; sister-in- law, Mrs. Margaret Paramore, all of Augusta; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003, at 11 a.m., from Galilee Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Oscar Wells officiating. Interment will be in Walker Memorial Park.
