HAYES, MARY E., PH. D., 65, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Redeemer on January 3, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Ralph W. Hayes. A life long student and teacher, Mary held a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Barry University, the Master of Education Degree from St. Francis University and the Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of South Florida. She was a member of two Honor Societies, Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Delta Pi. She was named in Who's Who Among America's Teachers and was active in The College Reading Association. Her teaching experience included ten years in the public school systems in Florida and Indiana, ten years in the Indiana private Christian schools sector and fifteen years as Professor of Education at Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, Florida. Mary was a member of the Keystone Bible Church of Odessa, Florida where she served as organist. She was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and came to Clearwater from Elkhart, Ind. in 1988. She is survived by her mother, Marion Gilbertson of Safety Harbor. Two Memorial Services will be held. The first will be at the Palmer Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana with a graveside service at the Olive Cemetery in Elkhart County, Indiana. The second Memorial Service will be at her beloved Clearwater Christian College.
