The funeral service for Mary E. Butler Fleming will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at Elkins East Chapel in Center Star, with James Waddell, of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating.Interment will follow in Butler Cemetery. The family received friends Friday evening. Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.Mrs. Fleming, 96, a resident of El Reposo, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003. She is preceded in death by two daughters, Reba Butler and Evelyn Murphy; and one son, Johnny Harold Butler.Mrs. Fleming is survived by her daughters, Ruby Sullivan, of Center Star, Dorothy Stowe, of Flint, Mich., and Shelby Smith and husband, Monroe, of Rogersville; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 44 great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren.A tribute of special music will be given by her grandson, Dan Bates.Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the wonderful care their mother received during her stay at El Reposo. Also, a sincere thanks goes to our family, friends and New Hope Baptist Church for the prayers and acts of love and kindness.
