Mary-E. Davis, spouse of Arnold J. Davies, mother of Frank, Barry and Seeleys, died on November 25, 2005 at 97 years old.
Mary E. Davies (nee Davis) Of Sherwood Park Manor passed away on October 25th 2005 at Sherwood Park Manor in Brockville. She was 97. Mary was born and lived in Brant County, Ontario until 1946 when she moved to Seeleys Bay. She did office work at Brantford Coach and Body until she married in 1933 and became an active participant in her husbands beekeeping business (Davies Apiaries). Mary retired in 1980, but continued her hobbies of reading, gardening, needlepoint, quilting, playing cards and had a keen interest in people. She was an active member of the United Church; on committees, in U.C.W.; Sunday School superintendent; Secretary Treasurer of Seeleys Bay Pastoral Charge for 20 years. She belonged to the Women's Institute, PDDGM and Life Member of Rideau Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Mary was predeceased by her husband Arnold J. Davies in 1985, her sister Grace Arthur and brother Lloyd Davis. She is survived by her sons Frank (Norma) Davies, Brockville; Barry (Freda) Davies, Seeleys Bay; brothers Alfred (Grace) Davis, Paris; Cecil (Ariel) Davis, Burford; sister-in-law Norah Davis, Norwood; grandchildren Blair & (Brenda) Davies, Calgary; Brian & (Sue) Davies, Brockville; Greg & (Robyn) Davies, Brockville; Deanna Davies & (Glen King), Kingston; Donna & (John) Dusseault, Sarnia; Margo & (Andre) Leclair, Lyn; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held on October 29, 2005 at the Scotland Funeral Home Chapel in Elgin. Rev. Harry Seeley officiated.
