Obituary of Mary-E. Adams


ADAMS, Mary E., 91, of Sebring, Fla., died March 9, 2010, in Hope Hospice Care. She was born in Marshall County, Ind., to Frank and Freda Martin and graduated from Tyner High School in 1937. She is survived by her husband, Robert. They had recently celebrated their 72nd anniversary. Prior to their retirement, they operated a farm for 30 years in Whitley County, Ind., where she was active in Happy Homemakers Extension Club, Thorncreek Township NEO, the Evangelical United Brethren and Methodist churches in Columbia City, Ind.,and worked at the Whitley County Hospital Cafeteria. Her surviving children are Don (Barbara) Adams of Fort Wayne and Sebring, Fla., Pat (Richard) Farmer of Sebring, Ruth (Rick) Peairs of Atascadero, Calif., and Bob (Nancy) Adams of Union, Ky. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand-daughter. One great grand-daughter is deceased. Surviving brothers and sisters are Keith Martin of South Bend, Marcella Fender of Independence, Mo., Glen and Cecil Martin of Plymouth, Ind., and Ann O' Blenis of Sebring. Six brothers and one sister preceeded her in death. In retirement, Mary was an avid shuffleboarder. A member of Sebring Recreational Club, she attained State Pro status. She also painted landscapes, quilted, enjoyed doing crafts and helped Robert with his wood working projects. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you support the charity of your choice.
