Mary Francis Long time resident of Elmira, died in Connecticut on March 30, 2004 with her family nearby. She was born in Elston Hollow on November 9, 1913. Mary was the ninth of ten children born to William Albert Derry and Elizabeth Findlay Derry. Miss Derry was the Executive Secretary to the Personnel Department at Bendix Aviation for four decades, including the World War II years. She was active in the First Methodist Church community for several years. Outside of work and church, her goals were to help her extended family and those in need. She did so with overwhelming generosity and love. Mary is survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Dr. William Findlay Vanderlip and family of South Windsor and Fairfield, Connecticut. Mr. Merrit Burr Derry and family of Elmira, New York. Mrs. Carol Dalton Walsh and family of Honeoye Falls, New York. Mrs. Charlotte Dalton and family of Houston, Texas. She was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery along side her Mother, Sisters and Brother.
