Mary Davis PORTLAND -- Mary Davis of 50 New Portland Road Gorham, the Gorham House and formerly of Portland passed peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007. She was born in Scarborough on Jan. 15, 1932, the daughter of the late Sam & Vasilo (Goranites) Davis. Mary was baptized in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She attended Scarborough Schools and graduated from Scarborough High School in 1949. She then attended Northeastern Business College & Grays School of Business. Mary also attended the Arthur Murray School of Dance. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was employed in the offices of First National Stores, New England Telephone Co., Child & Family Services and the Museum of Natural History. She later co-owned two locations of My Sister's Closet consignment shops from 1988-1992. She is survived by a brother, Duke Davis of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Pauline Davis of Portland; a niece, Suzanne Parenteau of Biddeford; and three nephews, Vernon Ross of South Portland, Terry Davis of Scarborough and Alan Davis of Bradenton, Fla. She was also the sister of the late George Davis, Helene Arnold and Anna Ross. The family would like to express a special thanks to the Gorham House for their loving care.
