Obituary of Mary-Davis Brown


Mary Davis Brown SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mary Davis Brown, widow of Wilton Maynard Brown, Sr., former owner of Brown Machinery, Inc. in Spartanburg, died December 19, 2010. She was the daughter of the late John Gary and Hester Nelson Davis and a native of Anderson County. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, the Upper Room Sunday School Class, Spartanburg Woman's Club, and past president and member of The Tuesday Reading and Garden Club. Survivors include two sons, Wilton Maynard Brown, Jr. and his wife Ruth C. Brown of Spartanburg and the Rev. Barry Lewis Brown and his wife Becky A. Brown of Travelers Rest; and a special daughter, Janet Brown Shook and her husband H. Thomas Shook of Boiling Springs; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. William Malambri. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Care Nursing Home, 59 Blackstock Rd., Inman, SC 29349; or to St. James United Methodist Church, 213 Lanford Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
