JOHNSON, Mary Cranston . Mary was born on March 16, 1923 in Hawick Scotland and passed away on Nov 20, 2013 at Fir Park Village, Port Alberni BC. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Stan in 2006 and her only son Stanley in 2004. She is survived and will be missed by her only sister Elsie in England and her niece and nephew Marg and Bill Johnson, as well as many more relatives and friends. Mary came to Canada as an English Was Bride in 1946 and made Port Alberni her home for life. She was proud to be a war bride and active with the war brides group including a war brides tea early this year at Ty Watson house. She was also active in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 55 for many years and served as Sargent of arms and flag bearer for many years, she was also an active member of St. Alban's Anglican Church. Mary was a lifelong animal lover and enjoyed her visits with Marg and Cassie right up to the end of her life. A Memorial Reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #293, 4680 Victoria Quay, Port Alberni on Thursday, Nov. 28 from 1-3PM.
