Obituary of Mary-Cornelia-Ashe Carter

Mary Cornelia 'Neely' Ashe Carter UNION, S.C.- Mrs. Mary Cornelia "Neely" Ashe Carter, 79, beloved wife of Harold Bobby Carter for 60 years, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Born in Chester, S.C. to the late Marvin W. Ashe and Bertie Henderson Ashe, she was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Boyd Carter. In addition to her husband, survivors include brother Harold (Jean) Ashe of Chester; sister, Kathleen Wright of Anderson; daughter, Cathy Smith of Charleston; son, Wesley (Elizabeth) Carter of Aiken; son, Perry (Melody) Carter of Union; granddaughters Donna Izzett of the home; Amber Smith of San Antonio, Texas; Emily (John) Garrison of Aiken; grandsons Wes Carter of Bloomington, Illinois; Andrew (Ginalee) Carter of Union; and Logan Carter of Union; and twelve great-grandchildren. A caring, selfless, giving person, Neely loved working with children and taking care of people. The family requests memorials be made to the Trail Life Troop 332 c/o Marvin McCullough, P.O Box 173, Buffalo, SC 29321. The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 to 3:00 on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Fairview Baptist Church in Union followed by a memorial service.
