1947-2014 Mary (Gooding) Davis Clifford peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 29, 2014. A devoted mom and grandmother, Mary loved to cook, care for her dog, Maddie, and was an avid crafter. She grew up in Bangor, Maine, but spent the last decade in Panama City, Fla. Mary was born on Sept. 13, 1947, to Ernest A. Gooding, Jr. and Alice M. Macleod, in Arlington, Mass. A graduate of Bangor High School ('65) and Husson College ('68), Mary moved to Unity, Maine, after marrying Gregory L. Clifford, who preceded her in death. They raised three children. Mary was the office manager at Gronseth Directory Service in Augusta, Maine, before co-founding Unity Service Co. She was also a past president of Unity Rotary. Mary will be dearly missed by her loving family, including her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Matthew Plunkett, of Ayer, Mass.; daughter and son-in-law Allison and Greg Morrill, of Upton, Mass.; son Bert Clifford, of Panama City, Fla.; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Mayra Gooding, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Dr. John and Teresa Gooding, of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Dr. Daniel and Katherine Gooding, of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren Maxwell, Bennet and Charlie Morrill, Jonathan and Ellison Plunkett, and Alexis and Nicholas Clifford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
