->Fleming, SA, Sr. Mary CelineSister Mary Celine (Veronica Mary) Fleming, a Franciscan Sister of the Atonement from Graymoor, died on May 31, 2012 at the Residence at St. Francis Convent, Garrison, NY. She was 100 ½ years old. Sister Mary Celine was born in New York City, NY, and was the daughter of Mary Josephine (Cleary) and Patrick Joseph Fleming. She is pre-deceased by her siblings: Julia Hopkins, Lillian Kelly, Madeline Morissey and Bernard Fleming. Sister joined the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement at Garrison, NY on September 8, 1926. She professed her first vows on May 8, 1928 and her final vows on August 11, 1934. As a Franciscan Sister of the Atonement, she served in parish ministries in Lake Placid, NY; Williamstown, NJ and served for 30 years in Administrative roles such as Treasurer General, Secretary General, and as the Vicaress Council member. She was the Mother General of the Congregation from 1960 - 1972. On Monday, June 4, 2012, the Reception of the Body prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel and the Evening Prayer/Wake Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Sister's funeral Mass will be in the Motherhouse Chapel on Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Sisters' Cemetery at Graymoor.
