Hartselle<!--Hartselle-->Funeral for Mary Caudill Mitchell, 74, of Hartselle will be Thursday, July 5, 2007, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Dr. Ron Wilson and Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. Mrs. Mitchell, who died Monday, July 2, 2007, at her residence, was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Morgan County to Stephen Emory Caudill and Dora Armstrong Caudill. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle where she taught Sunday school. She retired as a secretary for the Alabama State Troopers office in Decatur and was former secretary for Morgan County High School from 1971 until 1978. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene Caudill, Stephen &#8220;Red&#8221; Caudill and Bobby Caudill; and two sisters, Esther Case and Dora Brock. Survivors include four sons, Howard Rexford Mitchell and Bradley Caudill Mitchell, both of Hartselle, and James Gregory Mitchell and Jeffrey Stuart Mitchell, both of Decatur; one daughter, Leslie Carden of Hartselle; one brother, James Caudill of San Antonio; one sister, Lucille Dumas of Florence; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.Pallbearers will be Walter Dale Carden, Scott Mitchell, Bill Dumas, Patrick Prater and Eric Prater. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children&#8217;s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
