Funeral for Mary Cathryn Smith, 81, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Leonard Memorial Chapel in the First United Methodist Church with Dr. William Longsworth officiating and Greenwood Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Miss Smith died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born March 16, 1922, in Decatur to Leo nard B. Smith and Martha Smith. In 1937, she moved with her family to Fort Worth and graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1940. She was employed at General Dynamics for 41 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Guild of United Methodist Women. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 54 years. Miss Smith was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, L. Ray Smith and his wife, Mary Catherine; and one niece, Linda Smith Lewis. Survivors include two cousins, Mildred Crane of Wichita Falls and Ronald Crane of Allentown, Pa.; and many friends who will miss her.
