MITCHELL Mary Catherine passed away on Friday April 30, 2010 in Norwood NJ. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 1, 1916, the daughter of Edward Cuthbert Langan and Mary Winifred Hynes. She married John Brien Mitchell on October 22, 1944 in Brooklyn NY. Her husband and twin brother Edward Langan pre-deceased her. She and her husband had four children which they raised in Norwood NJ - Andrea and Bill Graham of Aiken SC, Edward Brien of Long Beach CA, John Brien Jr. and Kathleen of Mira Loma CA, and Kathleen of Norwood NJ. She is survived by her children, two grandsons and their wives - Joshua and Catherine Graham of Maine and Jeremy and Stephanie Graham of South Carolina. She has four great-grandchildren - Jacob and Luke Graham of Maine, and Miles and Riley Graham of South Carolina. Mary was a high school graduate who took specialized secretarial training which she used throughout her life. She worked for Prentice Hall in Englewood Cliffs until her retirement in 1981. In 1982, she moved to Melbourne FL where other friends from Norwood had settled. In 2006, she moved to Sparkill NY where she resided at Dowling Gardens until her passing. During her life she enjoyed reading, walking, swimming, and a good party. One of her famous sayings was "Do I owe you any money". A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Holy Communion, 66 Summit St., Norwood NJ 07648 on Sunday May 16 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Communion - Piece of the Rock.
