Obituary of Mary-Catherine-Kelly Carter

Carter Carter, Mary Catherine Kelly, 82, of Ft. Walton Beach, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, passed away November 26, 2003. A local resident from 1945 - 1997, she recently resided in Ft. Walton Beach. She was born April 13, 1921 in Birmingham, AL, and raised in New Orleans, LA, where she was a Pi Mu and graduate of Tulane University. She worked for Censorship, during WW II and married a handsome Naval officer, George T. Carter Jr. They moved to Ft. Lauderdale where they enjoyed 52 happy years until George's death in 1996. Mary Catherine was active in Charity Guild, Children's Opportunity Group, UDC, DAC, and was a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church. She will be missed by her many dear friends, bridge pals, and surviving family members: her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Lee Lance of Houston, TX, Anne and Bart Coleman, and grandchildren: Carter and Kelly Coleman, all of Ft. Walton Beach. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 12 Noon, with graveside funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM at Lauderdale Memorial Park.
